 About Our Practice Dr. Loo and Dr. Yen operate separate full and part-time practices respectively and work with the same staff. We are a strong team who work together to provide you with the best orthodontic treatment, and we have a great time doing it!  Meet Our Staff The most important member of our team is YOU! Your cooperation in your treatment plan is essential for successful results. Dr. Loo, Dr. Yen and their staff regularly report to patients and parents regarding the treatment progress. We encourage you to express your concerns and questions, and ask parents to take an active role in their child's orthodontic program. Your decision to pursue orthodontic treatment is an investment in your future and overall dental health. Selecting the right office for you is a very important part of that decision. Our clinical staff members are all certified dental assistants specializing in orthodontics and are routinely updated in special courses to serve you with the newest techniques in all phases of treatment. We strictly follow the procedures recommended by the Canadian Dental Association for sterilization and infection control assuring your health and safety. Administrative staff The administrative staff serves various roles in our office. Our Scheduling staff, Darcelle and Karen, will make you feel comfortable from your initial phone call to our office. Their goal is to schedule your orthodontic visits with as little impact to your busy schedule as possible. They are friendly, fast, and seasoned in multitasking skills. Darcelle is also our Financial Coordinator and she is always there for all your financial concerns. Her main goal is to make your financial experience at our office easy and convenient. She specializes in translating the red tape and making your insurance work for you. Karen is also our Patient Coordinator and she is responsible for all office correspondence. She also has the difficult task of managing the computer systems utilized in our practice.
Clinical Staff Our clinical orthodontic assistants have over 135 years of combined clinical experience. Sue, Dawn, Melanie, Marjorie, Alice and Sandy are highly skilled in performing many detailed and technical procedures to aid Dr. Loo and Dr. Yen in moving your teeth into proper alignment. Of special introduction is Sue, a certified dental assistant since 1972, who has been a member of Dr. Loo's staff since 1990. She has the task of organizing the treatment area to maintain sterilization and maximize efficiency. The clinical staff pride themselves in their knowledge of orthodontics and their skills to speed your treatment along. They will help motivate you to achieve your goal of a beautiful smile. Treatment Coordinator Marjorie is our treatment coordinator and assists Dr. Loo in the management of cleft lip and palate patients. She is familiar with all aspects of the office, both clinical and administrative, and can clarify any orthodontic concerns you have while finding the best scheduling option for your individual situation. She is committed to making you feel comfortable, as you become familiar with our office. Marjorie is also the genius behind our office contests! Clinical Coordinator Melanie is our clinic coordinator and one of the certified dental orthodontic assistants in the treatment area. In addition to assisting the doctors, Melanie prepares the diagnostic records for assessment, orders all of our clinical supplies, and makes sure everything runs smoothly in the clinic area. Laboratory Services We utilize the services of laboratory technicians who have established expertise in orthodontics. The laboratory technician individually fabricates the removable and fixed appliances for our patients, and as well, makes the neonatal obturators for our cleft palate babies.
